Become the person God has for me to become ...
become • introduction

You are being watched ( by the Son, by the Father, by friends, by angels, by departed ones, ... .)
What are those observers thinking about your claim to be "a Christian?"
("a follower")

Questions:

  • Have I been a Christian for many years? Or have I been a Christian for one year many times over?
  • When folks look at my life, how many years would they guess I've been a Christian?
  • If it suddenly became illegal to be a Christian, and people were being dragged into court for prosecution, would there be enough evidence to convict me?
  • How much would my friends say I have grown in my walk with Christ in the past 9-12 months?

Mt 4:18 ... "Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two fishermen, Simon Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea. And He said to them, "Sit There, and I will make you fishers of men."

(Nope. What He said was, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."It appears that a walk with Christ is just that ... a walk. Not a sit.)

Few of us enjoy such intellectual and faith-examining self-surgery, but most of us would agree that God has created us to be a people in process, a people who are inwardly, outwardly and measurably maturing, not a people who are static or sedentary (especially in our walk -- not sit, but walk -- with Christ.) It is clearly His desire that we become thoroughly and deeply His people. (See II Cor. 13:9, Col. 1:28, Jas. 1:4, Rev. 3:2, etc.) Many New Testament passages seem to indicate that there will be no place in Heaven for "surfac-y folk who merely flirt with the faith," and that Jesus did not come to secure shallow disciples. It may be that He's interested not in folks who leave the starting line with Him, but instead, with folks who successfully cross the finish line. ( I Cor 9:24-27) But we'll explore that particular perspective inside, along with hundreds of others.

God is not Finished With Me Yet ...

"PBPGINFWMY" (Please Be Patient, God Is Not Finished With Me Yet) conveys much truth. That statement is not meant to imply that the person we are today is NOT the person God has for us to be at this point in time ... It's just that God has some exciting growth ahead for us.

The Eight Priority Areas of Life ...

We talk about "The Eight Priority Areas Of Life." We've also put them into an ORDER that we'd invite your feedback on. We'll not propose that there's a right or wrong answer with respect to any particular order, but here's a question we ask ourselves: "If Jesus were to prioritize my life areas for me, which ones would he put ahead of which others?" We'd love your feedback.

Start with Eternity ...

Please ponder the [ Maturity Assessment ] button to the left. That's where we're encouraged to privately and confidentially evaluate / rate our current personal walk with the Living Christ. You'll be able to "take inventory" of your life in several categories. You'll then be provided with opportunities and resources to grow more deeply in each of the areas you choose.

Then Balance The Other Areas ...

Jump into the eight areas. Explore. Tell us about additional areas we should include. And let us know about growth-generating resources Internet-wide that should be included. Every suggestion you make may get significantly multiplied as it is broadcast to 57,000,000 other single Christians and singles of faith!

Don't Fall Eighteen Inches Short of Heaven ...

A challenge: Let's not risk travelling the countless miles through time and eternity in the blink of an eye to meet Christ face-to-face, only to find we've fallen eighteen inches short of our destination ... the eighteen inches between head knowledge and heart action -- the will. Even the demons believe. And shudder (Jas. 2:19). But they don't obey. Do you? Do I?

Therefore, one request ... Please don't leave as the same person who entered ... you'll have wasted the time you spent here. Please find at least one thing to take with you to help you BECOME just a bit more the man or woman God has for you to become today.

And have an amazing day in our Lord ...
