Most of us would wish to be more mature in our relationship with Christ, but spiritual maturity is a slippery concept, difficult to define. The questions in this Assessment are designed to help us evaluate our perception of our spiritual maturity by examining our lives and behavior in nine core aspects of "the Christian life" (demeanor, worship, evangelism, stewardship, knowledge, application/obedience, servanthood, relationships and character.)
Check the boxes below that you believe most accurately describe your

Your two highest scores may be the areas you want to
explore some growth in.
Please remember that even spiritual maturity can become an idol, so
let's keep this in perspective. Let us remember that it is a Person to whom we have given our lives -- the God of this Universe -- and not
a "system" or an "ethic," even one as healthy-sounding as "spiritual
maturity."
Consider this: If you had a fruit tree in your back yard, and
it was not bearing fruit to the degree you thought it was capable, how would you facilitate more fruit? By tying, taping or stapling fruit onto the branches? Of course not. You'd not concentrate on the fruit
(other than as an indicator of the health of the tree.) You'd "go for
the roots" most likely. You'd water them, fertilize them, make sure the
soil was nutrient-filled to facilitate growth, ...
We'd propose it's the same with us. We're not to concentrate on
bearing more fruits. Grunting, groaning, trying to bear more fruit. No.
We are to concentrate on our Root, Jesus of Nazareth. And when we are
deeply rooted in Him, there's no stopping the fruit-bearing. So the
challenge for each of us ... stay close to the Master. Drive our roots
deeply into Him (through the Word, prayer, worship, fellowship, etc.)
If you're able to facilitate personal growth on your own, we
hope this self-assessment assists you in the process. If you find that
you grow better in relationship, and you'd like to consider Christian coaching as catalyst, please feel free to contact us for more information.
May your day be every bit the abundant day that our Lord has for you ...
